The turnaround in Brentwood Town's season continued as they reversed their opening day 0-3 defeat to Phoenix, ending the Kent side's 100% start to the league season.
Harrison Georgiou put the Blues ahead in the first half and two fine goals in the last ten minutes by Lamar Reynolds and Tyrone Scarlett sealed the win.
Manager Tony Ievoli again rotated his squad making five changes from the team that drew at Heybridge on Monday but it made little difference as the Blues took the game to the league leaders in the first half.
Brentwood went close to taking a lead following a 19th minute corner when a lob shot from John Burgess was turned onto the underside of the crossbar by home keeper Steve Phillips.
And the visitor took a deserved 29th minute lead when Phoenix defender Aaron Sekhon hit a short back pass to Phillips and Harrison Georgiou quickly shut down the keeper, blocking his clearance before turning the loose ball into an empty net.
Brentwood had to wait until the 81st minute for a second goal. It came from Lamar Reynolds, whose pace and skill had troubled the home defence all afternoon, with a delightful chip over Phillips.
Substitute Tyrone Scarlett then hit a third with a powerful drive from outside the area into the far top corner after a fine run and pass down the right from another sub Marcus Milner.
Ievoli was pleased with the performance but was not getting carried away saying:” We are make progress slowly and surely. We did not panic when we lost 3-0 earlier in the season and we will not get carried away with a 3-0 win.”
