Brentwood chalked up their third successive league win with another strong home performance at the Brentwood Arena on Tuesday.
Blues Manager Tony Ievoli named an unchanged starting line-up from the side that beat Waltham Abbey on Saturday and, after a closely fought first half, saw his team dominate the second period, establishing a commanding 4-1 lead by the 65th minute.
Bowers, who have made a good start to their first Ryman League season, started strongly with James Thomas having a couple of chances and Brentwood keeper Ronnie Yates saving from Ben Sartain.
But Blues took the lead with a fine strike from their leader scorer Lamar Reynolds (pictured) in the 27th minute. However, it took only six minutes before Brad Warner slotted in an equaliser for the visitors.
It looked as though the teams would go in all square at half time but Blues took the lead in stoppage time, Reynolds again, this time from the penalty spot, for his fourteenth goal of the season.
It was 3-1 in the 57th minute, Andy Greenslade’s header from Arthur Goncalves’ cross to complete an excellent 16-pass move.
Shad Ngandu then got on the scoresheet shooting home from fifteen yards and Brentwood threatened to extend their lead as they dominated for much of the rest of the match, despite Alfie Hilton scoring a 90th minute consolation goal for Bowers.
