Overview

Tilbury produced a commanding second half performance to take the points in this Essex derby.
Injury-hit Blues introduced two new signings, centre-back Connor Martin and midfielder Nick Hilder, and it was Hilder who tested Dockers goalkeeper Lee Butcher from a free kick in the fifth minute.
Ife Ogunbayo went close to putting Brentwood ahead in the 28th minute but after an even first half, it was Tilbury who took the lead in the 49th minute when Lewis Jaggs hit a low shot through a crowded penalty area after a prolonged period of pressure on the home defence.
Dockers debutant Jack Barham then scored the second goal in the 56th minute with an assured finish after Brentwood had given the ball away in their own half.
Ogunbayo had a chance to reduce the arrears but his shot from close range hit Butcher and Lewis Francis punished Brentwood further in the 70th minute with another good finish to complete the scoring.
The Blues rarely threatened but a further chance fell to substitute Jalon Rowe who was put clear by Ife Ogunbayo but Rowe could not beat Tilbury keeper Lee Butcher who came out to save.
