Blues beaten at home by Maldon

Andy Freeman

Tuesday 26th September
Despite a spirited second half display, Brentwood suffered a 5-2 loss to Maldon on Tuesday night at the Brentwood Arena.

Much of the damage was done in the first 33 minutes, by which time the visitors had established a 4-0 lead. Ryan Clampin was the inspiration for the Jammers, scoring a hat-trick and setting up the other goal for Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe.

Kieran Bailey made it 5-0 in the 75th minute but Blues put Maldon under a lot of pressure in the second half and created a lot of chances. They were rewarded by two goals from Andy Freeman, the first from the penalty spot in the 77th minute and the second with a fine headed finish in the 87th.
