Price and Hunter goals make it two wins in a row

Matt Price

Tuesday 3rd October
Goals by Matt Price and debutant Brad Hunter saw Blues come from behind to clinch their second successive league win, a result that lifted them up to seventeenth place in Bostik North.

The Scholars had taken a 20th minute lead when Frank Keita was fouled inside the penalty area and Eoin Casey scored from the spot kick.

But Brentwood’s leading scorer, Matt Price, returning to the side after a back injury, equalised with a typically well-taken goal in the 34th minute, his seventh of the season.

Blues gradually took control in the second half but had a scare when the impressive Casey saw his shot clip the Brentwood crossbar in the 57th minute.

Hunter replaced Price in the 69th minute and the striker marked his first appearance for Blues with the winning goal seven minutes from the end. Hunter showed good skill and composure to chest the ball down and shoot past Berkley Laurencin in the Potters Bar goal,

Brentwood Town: Page, Pugsley (Bademosi 78), Martin, Jones (Robson 78), Gibbs, Cavalier, Hilton, Hall, Freeman, Price (Hunter 69), Foster.
