Brentwood win vital three points at Ware

Danny Dafter

Tuesday 6th March

A goal in each half saw Brentwood take a vital three points in their battle against relegation when they visited Ware on Tuesday night.

Danny Dafter and Brad Hunter were the scorers and Town are now eight points clear of bottom club Romford, who have played four games more.

Ware’s Jordon Watson had the first shot on target in the thirteenth minute, but his fierce drive was straight into the arms of home keeper Harry Voss.

But Brentwood were getting on top and were unlucky not to go ahead in the 27th minute when Tony Stokes wriggled clear in the Ware penalty area only to see his shot hit the inside of a post.

The visitors did go ahead in the 36th minute, Dafter scoring with a fine header into the far corner from Matt Hall’s free kick.

Ware looked for an equaliser in the second half and put some pressure on the Brentwood defence but they held firm and put the game beyond Ware in the 71st minute when substitute Hunter forced the ball home at the second attempt after Stokes had put him in on goal.

Brentwood Town: Page, Gibbs, Brown, Robson, Dafter, Cavalier, Hilton, Hall (Jones 74), Stokes, Gardner (Hunter 66), Foster (Stanley 62).
