Brentwood take three points from Barking

Tony Stokes

Saturday 24th February
BOSTIK LEAGUE DIVISION ONE NORTH
BRENTWOOD TOWN 1 – 0 BARKING

Tony Stokes’ header early in the second half earned Brentwood a welcome three points.

Brenden Cavalier could have put the home side ahead on five minutes, but Emmanuel Olajide saved his shot. From then on Barking created the better chances in the first half with Jordan Peart, Billy Jones, twice, and Abs Seymour going close to opening the scoring.

Brentwood improved in the second half and Stokes headed them ahead in the 48th minute from Luke Stanley’s accurate cross. Stanley hit the bar from a good position while at the other end Alan Taylor’s long-range shot clipped the home crossbar.

Olajide saved again when Stokes could have sealed the win two minutes from time, but Brentwood had just done enough.

Brentwood Town: T.Brown, Gardner, L.Brown, Gibbs, Martin, Cavalier, Hilton, Jones (Cuthbert 78), Stokes, Ranger (McCabe 66), Stanley (Foster 87).
