Saturday 25th August
FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND
BRENTWOOD TOWN 1 – 1 SPORTING BENGAL UNITED 1

Harry Doyle came off the bench and scored a 65th minute equaliser for ten-man Brentwood to deny Sporting Bengal a surprise win. Doyle hooked the ball into the top corner from a tight angle after good work from Ayrton Coley on the right wing.
Ex-Brentwood forward Steve Carvell had shot the visitors into a 21st minute lead and almost immediately Blues’ Ryan Mallett was red-carded for a late tackle.
Sporting deserved their lead and created the better chances. Brentwood’s Rob Budd was the busier keeper for much of the game and the visitors nearly won the game with some late pressure on the home goal.
The tie will now go to a replay at Mile End Stadium on Wednesday 29th August.
