Single goal sees Blues beaten by Grays

Saturday 15th September

A single goal straight after half time by Michael Mignot was enough to earn Grays the points in this Essex Derby.

The visitors had the better of the opening stages of the first half with former Brentwood striker Shomari Barnwell testing Brentwood keeper Rob Budd in the ninth minute.

At the other end, Lloyd Anderson saved a Luke Foster free kick and Alfie Hilton had his follow-up shot blocked on the line.

Both sides failed to convert their chances in the first half with Tony Stokes having Blues best opportunity, but Anderson was quick to come out and smother.

After Mignot’s 46th minute strike there few clear chances with Grays sub Ade Cole going the closest to scoring on two occasions.

Brentwood Town: Budd, Gardner, Martin, Carter, Gordon (Cuthbert 46), Levett, Coley, Hilton (Apenteng 78), Joseph (Hall 62), Stokes, Foster.
