Brentwood Town returned to league action on Tuesday night and secured a 2-0 victory over Wroxham at The Brentwood Centre Arena.
The Blues came close to taking the lead on the brink of half time when a through ball to Danny Ogunleye was hit on target, but handled by keeper Ollie Sutton.
A foul on Benas Vaivada by Travis Dodsworth, just inside the box, provided The Blues with the chance to take the lead.
Shad Ngandu revived his penalty successes against Wroxham as he converted from the spot to give The Blues the lead in the closing stages of the first half.
Wroxham opened the second half by breaking down the left hand side and a shot by Ryan Hawkins forced an acrobatic save from Melvin Minter.
A corner kick by Vaivada found Lee Noble but his curling effort from the edge of the box was denied by Sutton.
Ogunleye extended The Blues lead in the 60th minute as he received the cross from the left before his side footed finish found the back post.
The Blues came close to getting three over the Yachtsmen as a shot by Vaivada was struck against the cross bar. But the victory and clean sheet sees us move up to eighth in the table.
The Blues return to The Arena on the 5th October as they welcome step 3 side Cray Wanderers in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy.
