Tuesday 11th April
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN NORTH
TILBURY 1 - 1 BRENTWOOD TOWN
This ‘Easter Monday’ fixture was hastily rearranged for the next day after heavy rain had rendered the Chadfields pitch unplayable.
Brentwood took the lead with an excellently worked goal in the 36th minute. Goalkeeper Melvin Minter’s accurate long kick found Ross Wall who played the ball out to Solomon Ogunwomoju on the right and his low cross was finished at close range by Jack Adlington.
Ogunwomoju hit the post early in the second half but the Dockers were level in the 74th minute when Alex Clark slammed home after some pressure from the home side. Minter made a good save from Adam Vyse before the end and Brentwood had to settle for a point but extended their successful run that has now seen them lose just one of the last fourteen matches.
The end of the season is approaching fast, and Brentwood finish their campaign with three matches in eight days starting with two tough away matches against second-in-the-table AFC Sudbury on Saturday (15th April) and third-placed Lowestoft Town next Tuesday 17th, with the final match of the season at home to Wroxham on Saturday 22nd.
Brentwood Town: 13 Melvin Minter, 2 James Folkes, 3 Andrew Freeman, 4 Connor Hogan, 5 Junior Velasquez, 6 Jack Humphrey, 7 Jack Adlington, 8 Jack Dickinson (Bryan Ifeanyi 81'), 9 Ross Wall, 10 George Craddock, 11 Solomon Ogunwomoju.
