Club News | 9 Aug 2024

Brentwood Town are delighted to announce the signing of Tomo Anderson from Step 3 side Hashtag United.

Anderson began his career under the youth system of East Thurrock United and was a part of the squad that achieved promotion to National League South during the 2015-16 season.

Following this achievement, Anderson completed spells at Tilbury where he made 59 appearances before signing for Hashtag United in 2020.

Other notable former clubs of Tomo include Basildon United, Great Wakering Rovers and Aveley.

During his time at the Tags, Anderson was a part of the squad that secured promotion from Essex Senior League in the 2020-21 season and had 20 goal involvements, with 15 goals and 5 assists.

Most recently, he achieved 100 appearances under 2 spells for the club and was voted by fans as a member of the Hashtag all-time XI. He gained 3 Player of the Months and currently holds the record of Top Man of the Match awards for the Tags.

When asked on signing for The Blues, Anderson said, “I know a few players and the management team who are looking to win the league or promoted through the play-offs.”

“I’m a defender that likes to win the ball, win every game and hopefully win the league as I have done before!”

Assistant manager Steve Butterworth added, “I am very pleased to finally get Tomo over the line…he’s got better every year over the past few seasons and will be a great addition to an already strong squad.”

We can expect a highly determined centre back with strengths in his ranges of passing. Brentwood Town look forward to welcoming Tomo to The Arena and seeing him in action for The Blues during the season.
