Wroxham 2-2 Brentwood Town
Isthmian League North Division
Friday 19th March 2025
Brentwood Town continue their promotion pursuit, with only two points needed from their final two fixtures to secure the title, after they were held to a two-all draw at Wroxham on Good Friday.
The hosts took an early lead after four minutes on the clock through Ryan Miles, as he got onto the end of a cross squared in by Asa McGeachy, before tucking in his shot at the near post.
A cross from Marlon Agyakwa was met with a scramble in the penalty area and forced a save from Tom Coombe, who took a minor knock during the process.
Chances continued for The Blues with two efforts in a matter of minutes from Shad Ngandu finding the gloves of Coombe and the edge of the right post respectively.
However, Jonothan Nzengo sealed the equaliser with his sublime, curling attempt from 25 yards out cushioning itself into the top right corner.
Romél Aarons-Royal put The Blues ahead at the end of the first half as he composedly struck a rebound from the post across goal.
Mekhi McKenzie momentarily extended the lead with his header finding its way past Coombe, before the linesman waved for offside.
The Yachtsmen were awarded a penalty as Miles was brought down by Aarons-Royal, but his effort was denied by Melvin Minter.
McGeachy netted his fifth of the season and found a leveller for the hosts in the 74th minute as he tapped in a ball whipped into the area from Rio Abodunde.
In the final minute of additional time, The Blues were reduced to 10 with Jesse Olukolu given a straight red card for a foul.
