SOUTHEND UNITED 3 – 0 BRENTWOOD TOWN
Brentwood went out of the Essex senior cup at the first hurdle, losing 3-0 to a strong Southend team at Roots Hall.
Tom Richardson and Ben Wyss both went close for Brentwood but the home team took the lead through Aaron Cosgrove from the penalty spot in the 24th minute. Tom Clifford added a second for Southend just before half time with a speculative effortfrom the left wing that found the far top corner of the goal.
Jaden Crowhurst added the third in the 58th minute.
