Friday night football victory sees The Blues to third
A 3-2 win for Brentwood Town over Maldon & Tiptree moves them into third position in the league, at the start of the non-league weekend.
The scoring was opened in the 10th minute by Mekhi McKenzie as he received the cross from Wyan Reid and struck the shot into the back of the net.
Just seven minutes later, a curled shot by George Smith in front of goal allowed the visitors to equalise.
However before half time, a foul on McKenzie in the danger zone by Lewis Jaggs forced the Jammers to continue the remainder of the game with 10 men.
The Blues entered the second half much more dominant and compact which resulted in them taking the lead from a powerful free kick by Andrew Freeman.
The lead was extended in the 71st minute as a pass won by Matt Cripps found Reid on the edge of the box, who managed to finish into the bottom right corner.
Harry Honesty pulled one back for the visitors late into stoppage time, resulting in a 3-2 score line at full time.
The Blues return this Tuesday as the welcome play-off contenders Bowers & Pitsea to The Arena.
