ISTHMIAN NORTH
STOWMARKET TOWN 1 - 3 BRENTWOOD TOWN
Brentwood had a comfortable win in Suffolk on Saturday in a match they mostly dominated against s struggling Stowmarket team that now sits bottom of the Isthmian North division.
Blues created many chances and should have been ahead in a goalless first half with Andy Freeman and Jack Adlington going closest to scoring. Both teams were reduced to ten men before half time with Stowmarket’s Jack Ladbrook in the 34th minute, and Brentwood’s Matt Price four minutes later both picking up two yellow cards.
The visitors took the lead when Adlington put Andy Freeman through in the 53rd and he coolly rounded Stow keeper James Askew to score. Sam Deering then made it 2-0 finding the bottom corner on 67 minutes.
Joe Carroll burst through the middle of the visitors’ defence to score a spectacular solo goal for Stowmarket in the 88th minute but Jack Adlington restored Blues two-goal lead from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
