Double signing for Blues

Club News | 10 Aug 2024

We are delighted to announce the double signing of Lee Noble and Toby Stevenson.

It’s a homecoming for midfielder Noble, who started his career at The Brentwood Arena in 2006. He spent two seasons at the club, winning the Essex Senior League, before moving onto Dartford, where he won promotion from the Isthmian Premier League to the National League South, followed by promotion to the National League with the Kent outfit.

After 12 years at Dartford, Noble moved to Tilbury in 2020. In 2022, he linked up with Heybridge Swifts, where he has spent the last two seasons. He made 32 appearances for Swifts last season and found the net twice.

Speaking about his return to CM15, Noble said, “The move came about [whilst] I was thinking of retiring after I wasn’t going back to Heybridge.

I still have some miles in the legs, and after a few chats with some people saying don’t stop while you can still play, ‘Scouse’ got in touch with me and asked if I would be interested in a return after [almost] 20 years.

I thought it would be a perfect way to end my career with promotion with the club that first gave me an opportunity to have a career in non-league football."

Also joining Noble at The Brentwood Arena is defender Toby Stevenson. The 24 year old came through the ranks at Leyton Orient, and has also had spells at Charlton Athletic, Watford, Dagenham & Redbridge, Bromley, Billericay Town, Braintree Town, Margate and Chatham Town.

When asked on signing, Stevenson said,

“I spoke with Keith & ‘Scouse’ and I really liked what they want to achieve for the club and also the style of play and set up of the club and it’s definitely something I want to be apart of!

For this season I hope I can help the team achieve promotion and on a personal note clean sheets and chip in with a few assist and goals along the way”

Upon completion of the addition of Noble and Stevenson to the squad, Assistant Manager Steve Butterworth said, “I’m delighted to get both boys in just before start of season. We’ve been very good during Pre-season, but we felt we wanted a bit more quality in certain areas and both have played at the highest Non League level.

Toby adds great competition at both centre-back and left-back,and has looked very strong in training.

'Nobes’ believe it or not played with me many years ago at Dartford. Even at 36 the quality on the ball will be imperative for us with our new pitch and the pace we have going forward.”
