Brentwood Town are thrilled to announce the signing of forward Rob Harvey, who returns to the Club from Heybridge Swifts.
Harvey, 24, made 59 appearances and scored 16 goals for The Blues during his first 2 seasons at the Club. Most recently, he made 75 appearances and scored 19 goals for Heybridge Swifts in total, picking up the Supporters’ Player of the Season in 2023.
At the start of his career, Harvey, who predominantly plays on the right-wing, was part of the Brightlingsea Regent side that secured promotion to the Isthmian League Premier during the 2016-17 season, before embarking on a one-year professional contract with Millwall.
Following this achievement, Harvey signed for Braintree Town and had loan spells at clubs including AFC Sudbury, Leiston and Coggeshall Town.
Having made 22 appearances in the Isthmian North Division last season, Harvey produced 7 goals in all competitions. One of Harvey’s most notable goals came in Heybridge Swifts’ 6-1 home victory over Bury Town last October… but he is “buzzing to be back” and is looking forward to extending this tally under The Blues.
When asked on signing, Harvey said, “I loved my first spell at Brentwood and when [Project 3G] was explained, it felt like the right time to return.”
“There’s a lot of unfinished business from the last few seasons for everyone and I want to help the Club go one step further by giving the fans a promotion out of this league.”
Assistant manager Steve Butterworth added, “Rob was influential when Brentwood almost got promoted two seasons ago. His energy levels are superb, and we really look forward to working with him.”
We can expect a highly competitive winger with Harvey’s quick pace and hard-working presence causing difficulty to our opposition’s defence. Brentwood Town look forward to watching Rob Harvey back in action at the Arena for the 2024/25 season.
