Friday 25th January
BOSTIK NORTH DIVISION
BRENTWOOD TOWN 0 – 1 MALDON & TIPTREE
Maldon moved up to second place in Ryman North after taking the points with a first half goal from Stephane Ngamvoulou in this Friday night encounter at the Brentwood Arena.
Ryan Mallett hit the Maldon woodwork from a free kick in the eighth minute, and the Jammers did well to survive a goalmouth scramble in the fifteenth minute following Mitch hunter’s corner kick.
However, the visitors then had the better chances with Blues goalkeeper Rob Budd twice making fine saves from Jammers Jerome Slew before Ngamvoulou scored on the half hour.
Eddie-Louis Dsane shot into the side-netting from a good position just before half time and Maldon started the second period on top, but Blues’ Tony Stokes had a goal-bound shot blocked in the 53rd minute.
Ngamvoulou and Kojo Awotwi wasted good chances to increase Maldon’s lead, and Kojo Apenteng went closes to an equaliser in the 76th minute, shooting just wide after Ernest Okoh had created the opening.
Brentwood Town: Budd, Fox, Martin, Carter, Gordon, Hunter, Apenteng, Mallett (Levett 65), Hilton (Doyle 83), Hughes, Stokes (Okoh 73).
