Brentwood Town were held to a goalless draw over Waltham Abbey.

The Blues came close to taking the lead when the delivery of Benas Vaivada met Mekhi McKenzie but was hit just wide of the right post.

A header from Connor Hogan was hit narrowly wide before a shot by the opposition’s Kymani Thomas followed suit, leaving both sides level.

Kai Brown emerged on after the break but his shot at goal was denied by Bradley Robinson.

The Blues continued their efforts in front of goal. A cross from Jon Nzengo met Vaivada and was tipped over the bar. 

The Abbotts countered but an effort was struck wide. Aaron Eyoma’s strike moments later forced a save from Melvin Minter, giving both sides a point each at the final whistle.
