BOSTIK NORTH DIVISION
BARKING 3 - 0 BRENTWOOD TOWN
Brentwood’s good recent run of results ended abruptly with defeat at Mayesbrook Park on Saturday.
Brentwood struggled to cope with the Barking forwards and fell behind in the 16th minute when Kemo Darboe opened the scoring for the home side.
Ex-Brentwood goalkeeper Tim Brown made a fine reaction save to keep out a header from Charlee Hughes in the 24th minute but Town fell further behind ten minutes later when Barking broke away down the right flank and Darrelle Russell laid a perfect pass into the path of Abs Seymour who scored easily.
Three minutes before half time, both sides were reduced to ten men when Hughes and Barking’s Joe Bruce were red-carded after an altercation by the halfway line.
Brentwood substitute Ernest Okoh went close to reducing the arrears early in the second half but Barking continued to create chances and Rob Budd saved well from Seymour.
Another Brentwood sub, Harry Doyle, was close to scoring in the 78th minute but his header flashed just wide of a post.
As the visitors pushed forward in an effort to get back in the game, Barking substitute Ola Ogunwamide found plenty of space and was twice denied by Budd saves.
But it was Ogunwamide who scored the third goal ten minutes from time, picking up a short corner from Seymour he hit a superb shot into the top corner giving Budd no chance.
Brentwood Town: Budd, Hilton, Martin, Littlejohn (Okoh 46), Gordon, Fox, Apenteng (wood 86), Levett, Hurford, Hughes, Stokes (Doyle 74).
