BOSTIK NORTH DIVISION
BRENTWOOD TOWN 3 – 1 WITHAM TOWN
Witham found themselves deeper in relegation trouble after two late goals saw them beaten at the Brentwood Arena while fellow strugglers Romford were winning.
Both sides had early chances with Charlee Hughes heading just wide from an Alfie Hilton corner in the eight minute and Jack Lelliott only finding the side-netting at the far post shortly before Hilton finished off a good move to give the Blues a twelfth minute lead.
Brentwood nearly increased their lead through a Ryan Mallett header that was well saved by Witham goalkeeper Luca Collins but almost immediately the visitors broke away and Johnny Ashman found the bottom corner to equalise in the 24th minute.
Albert Levett hit the Witham crossbar early in the second half and a speculative long-range effort by Tony Stokes was kept out by keeper Collins. Michael Osei had a chance to put Witham but shot straight at Rob Budd in the Brentwood goal with ten minutes to go.
Brentwood then earned the points with goals from Nathan Fox and Charlee Hughes in the 82nd and 86th minutes. Fox scored his first goal for the club with a run down the right and a shot into the far bottom corner. Hughes than manged to get his body between the ball and Collins before turning smartly and slotting home the third goal.
Brentwood Town: Budd, Fox, Hunter, Mallett, Martin, Easterford (Okoh 76), Hilton, Levett, Hughes, Nche (Carter 58), Hurford (Stokes 65).
