Maldon & Tiptree 2-0 Brentwood Town
Saturday 22nd March 2025
Isthmian League North Division
Brentwood Town’s winning run came to an end against Maldon & Tiptree on Non-League day, with the Jammers running out 2-0 winners at the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium.
Maldon had the better of the chances during the opening exchanges, with Amine Sassi opening the scoring after thirteen minutes. Sassi picked the ball up in his own half before driving goalwards and firing a powerful shot beyond Melvin Minter from just outside the box.
Not long afterwards, Lyle Della-Verde cut in from the right and drilled a shot goalwards, but his effort went just wide.
The Jammers almost made it two, with Zac Littlejohn rattling the bar with a header.
Brentwood started to grow into the game, with the Blues firing a few challenging crosses across the Maldon six yard box, but they couldn’t find an equaliser.
The ball fell to Harvey Peters from a free kick, but the young defender put his shot wide from six yards.
Shortly after, Della-Verde forced Justham into saving his shot from 12 yards.
In the seventieth minute, Chris Millar doubled Maldon’s lead with another superb finish. The ball was flicked onto him nicely and he broke past the Blues backline, heading goalwards at pace. Some clever footwork followed and he put the ball past Melvin Minter to make it two.
Brentwood Town remain three points clear at the top of the table, with results elsewhere going our favour. We welcome Mildenhall Town to The Arena next Saturday for another huge clash.
