PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN NORTh
BRENTWOOD TOWN 0 – 0 HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS
Despite a good game of football in which both sides worked extremely hard, this Essex derby ended in stalemate with both defences in good form.
Neither team seriously troubled the goalkeepers in the first half. Brian Ifeanyi was a constant threat on the Brentwood right wing but he was generally well contained by the Swifts defence.
The home team had the better of the chances in the second half with Ross Wall’s header just missing the top corner three minutes after the restart. Blues Sam Park had two good efforts, shooting just wide in the 65th minute and then hitting the ball straight at Callum Chafer in the Swifts goal nine minutes later. In between those two efforts Tyler Brampton’s header in the six yard box saved a goal after Chafer had not dealt with high ball into the box.
