Brentwood Town are pleased to announce a third signing of the week, with midfielder Sam Park returning to the club from Heybridge Swifts.
Park, 22, started his career with Brentwood from a young age, making his debut in 2019. He would go on to make 34 appearances, scoring two goals, before departing for the Swifts in February 2023.
During his time at Heybridge, Park was a vital player across their cup qualifying rounds. He opened the scoring in the Swifts’ 3-2 victory over Barton Rovers in the Isuzu FA Trophy First Qualifying Round, as well as scoring in the Trophy’s Third Qualifying Round against Chatham Town.
In 2023, his strike secured a 1-0 victory over Felixstowe & Walton United which sent them into the Isthmian North Play-Off Semi-Final in the 2022-23 season. Last season he made 23 appearances and produced seven goals, including a half-time equaliser against Bowers & Pitsea.
When asked on his return to the Arena Park said, “The Club’s ambition for this season and the direction in which the club is heading in, is something I want to be a part of.
“I’m looking forward to playing with [the team] and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans again”.
Assistant manager Steve Butterworth added, “[We are] very pleased to have Sam back and have been looking to add someone who can add goals from midfield. Once we get him back fit [after his operation] I can see him being instrumental in what the club are doing.
“We’ve had to fight off interest from two leagues above to get him in and are so happy he’s come on board!”.
Brentwood Town look forward to welcoming Sam Park back to the Arena and watching him in action for The Blues throughout the 2024/25 season.
