Match Report | 31 Oct 2024

Wednesday 30th October
Isthmian League North
Gorleston 2 – 2 Brentwood Town

The long trip to Norfolk saw Brentwood rewarded with a point following a strong second half performance after they had trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes of the first half.

Brentwood started well and Romel Aarons Royal was denied at close range by home keeper Antoni Bort and Kai Brown shot over the Gorleston bar before Gorleston took a 16th minute lead when Adam Tann headed in from Harley’s Black corner.

Four minutes later, following Black’s free kick Zach Dronfield’s low shot from the edge of the box found the net to double Gorleston’s lead.

Both sides had more chances before half time, but it was the introduction of Brentwood substitute Lee Noble that helped them get back into the match with the midfielder scoring in the 62nd minute, four minutes after coming off the bench.

Connor Hogan nearly equalised with a long range shot that Bort tipped the ball over the bar, before Daniel Ogunleye got Brentwood level with a header from Andy Freeman’s corner in the 73rd minute.
