Second half goals see Blues progress in Trophy

Match Report | 21 Sep 2024

Saturday 21st September
FA TROPHY 2nd Qualifying Round
BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT 1 – 2 BRENTWOOD TOWN

Two second half goals enabled Brentwood to turn round an early deficit and progress to the next round of the Trophy.

The home team took the lead in just the second minute of the first half when Louie Kudiabor finished a good move down the left with a neat finish inside the near post.

Regent looked worth their lead for much of the game, but Brentwood’s fortune turned in the last 20 minutes and they equalised in the 72nd minute when skipper Matt Cripps scored from close range following a free kick. Ten minutes later Daniel Ogunleye seized on an error in the home defence and rounded keeper Billy Lawlor to put Blues ahead and into the next round.
