Club News | 21 Oct 2024

Brentwood Town moved up to seventh in the Isthmian League North Division with a stunning 5-0 victory at Haringey Borough.

Marlon Agyakwa opened the scoring for The Blues as he received a through ball from Andrew Freeman before tapping it into the bottom right corner.

Borough came knocking as Derek Asamoah fired a shot from inside the box which forced a superb save from Melvin Minter.

The Blues got a second as Borough keeper Michael Acquah palmed an on target cross by Danny Ogunleye into his own net.

Jon Nzengo got his first of the season as he danced past the Borough defence before cutting inside and shooting from close range, to give the Blues a three goal advantage at half time.

Freeman made it four in the closing stages of the second half as the keeper failed to deny his deep in swinging corner.

Just minutes later The Blues made it five as Agyakwa’s shot from the edge of the box found the top corner.

The Blues are back in action this Saturday for the first round proper of the FA Trophy as they welcome step 3 side Cray Valley Paper Mills to The Arena.
