THE BLUES MAKE IT THREE OUT OF THREE

Club News | 20 Jul 2024

Brentwood Town extended their pre season winning streak to three out of three after their 5-1 victory over Barking FC at the Lawtech stadium yesterday evening.

The Blues took the lead in the seventh minute with Danny Ogunleye skilfully dribbling past the keeper before tapping it home.

The hosts quickly equalised with a header from Mugoya-Tabingwa.

But the lead was restored by an Ogunleye header after getting on the end of a curling cross from Jesse Olukolu.

The lead was extended just moments later after Ogunleye was fouled and managed to convert from the penalty spot, cementing his first half hat-trick.

In the closing stages of the half Mekhi McKenzie made it four for the Blues after capitalising off of a mistake by the host’s keeper before putting the ball into the back of the net.

The second half saw keeper Sam Cowler in goal, who managed to save a Barking free kick shot from a promising position.

But the Blues made it five with a fourth goal from Ogunleye as he got on the end of a loose ball, before sealing our fifth and final goal of the night.

The Blues are back in action on Tuesday 23rd July 2024 as they face the FA Vase runners-up Great Wakering Rovers.
