BUILDBASE FA TROPHY 3rd QUALIFYING ROUND
BRENTWOOD TOWN 3 – 0 AFC SUDBURY
A Tom Richardson hat-trick in the first half hour enabled Brentwood to cruise to a comfortable win and into the draw for the first round proper of the FA Trophy.
It was an impressive performance by Brentwood against an in-form team who take on League 2 Colchester United in the FA Cup next weekend.
Richardson struck first in the fifteenth minute with a well-placed header from Andy Freeman’s cross. Two minutes later George Craddock teed up Richardson for his second and it was 3-0 in the 28th minute when Freeman’s cross was parried by Suds keeper Alfie Stronge and Richardson fired home.
As the Blues continued to dominate, Freeman, George Craddock and Richardson threatened to increase the lead further before half time.
Further chances fell to the home side in the second half with Stronge saving from Jack Dickinson, and Freeman and Richardson hitting the woodwork before Daniel Gilchrist finally forced a save from Blues keeper Ollie Bowles fifteen minutes from time.
Brentwood Town: Bowles, Gray (Love 46), Gould, Hogan, Cripps, Humphrey, Dickinson (Park 87), Craddock, Richardson (Ogunleye 81), Harvey, Freeman.
