Saturday 1st December
BOSTIK LEAGUE DIVISION ONE NORTH
BRENTWOOD TOWN 3 – 1 FELIXSTOWE & WALTON UNITED

Brentwood went behind midway through the second half but recovered to score three times in twelve minutes to secure their fourth league win of the season.

The visitors started the first half brightly and had a goal by Jack Ainsley ruled out for offside in the ninth minute.

Probably the best chance of the half fell to Brentwood’s Charlee Hughes on fifteen minutes. After good work on the right by Alfie Hilton, Felixstowe goalkeeper Jack Spurling saved well from Kojo Apenteng’s shot but Hughes could not hit the target from close in as tried to convert the loose ball.

Spurling saved from Apenteng again while Blues keeper James Pellin came out and tackled Jack Ainsley as he came through on goal. Miles Powell then headed a good chance straight at Pellin.

Tony Stokes went close with a fierce shot just wide of goal in the 37th minute and it had been an entertaining but goalless first half that saw both goalkeepers in good form. As the second half progressed, it began to look as though a single goal would settle the match. Jack Ainsley headed wide and Pellin saved well again, from Sam Ford, before Ainsley fired Felixstowe into a 68th minute lead and it seemed the Suffolk club could be on their way to three points.

But Hughes equalised on 76 minutes, converting Kojo Apenteng’s low cross from the goal line on the left. Brentwood were dominating the later stages of the game and Albert Levett put Blues ahead for the first time in the 82nd minute five minutes later Ryan Mallett added the third goal with a shot into the bottom corner.

Brentwood Town: Pellin, Hilton (Wood 90), Apenteng, Carter (Martin 72), Gordon, Levett, Smith, Mallett, Stokes (Littlejohn 90), Hughes, Hurford.
